Before you begin

Make sure you have everything ready before starting the setup.

Checklist

  • 🏠 A home in most metro areas in Ontario with fibre availability
  • 📡 A router that supports PPPoE and DHCPv6-PD (most modern routers do)
  • 💳 A payment card for the subscription
  • ⏱️ About 30 minutes to complete the setup (plus waiting time for installation)

Create your account and buy the Residential plan

About 10 minutes

Register and apply

  1. Go to Register and create your account
  2. Check your email and click the verification link
  3. Go to Questionnaire and fill it in
  4. Join our Discord server while you wait for approval

After approval

  1. Go to Subscriptions
  2. Click Add Residential and pick your plan
  3. Click Manage Billing and add your payment card
  4. Come back to Subscriptions and click Refresh
Done when: Your subscription shows in Subscriptions with your card details (e.g., "Visa ending in 1234"). It should not say "No payment method".

Add your home address

About 5 minutes

  1. Go to Access Management
  2. Click Add Residential Service
  3. Enter the address where the service will be installed (with unit number if you have one)
  4. Submit the form
  5. Find the new entry under "Your Access Methods"
  6. Click on it to see your Username and Password
  7. Go to Profile and click Link Discord Account to access member channels
Done when: Your Residential Service appears in Access Management and shows a Username and Password when you click on it.
Note: Your service must show Active status before Step 4 works. You can do Step 3 now while waiting for installation.

Set up your IP allocation

About 5 minutes

You can do this now, even before installation. This tells our system what IP addresses to give your router.

Part A: Get an IP allocation

  1. Go to LIR Allocations
  2. Click Request New Allocation
  3. In the form:
    • Pool Category: select Managed Pool
    • IP Version: select IPv6
  4. Click Request Prefix

Part B: Create a subnet

  1. Click on your new allocation to expand it
  2. Click Manage Allocation
  3. Click Create Subnet
  4. In the form:
    • Purpose: type Home (or any description you like)
    • Subnet Assignment: leave as Auto-generate next available subnet
  5. Click Create

Part C: Connect it to your service

  1. Go to Connection Profiles
  2. Click Create Connection
  3. In the form:
    • Name: type Home
    • Access: select the Residential Service you created in Step 2
    • Enable DHCP Prefix Delegation: turn on
    • Delegated Prefix: select your subnet from Part B
    • Enable BGP: leave off
  4. Click Save
Done when: Your connection profile shows in Connection Profiles with "DHCP-PD: Enabled" and your subnet prefix.

Connect your router

About 10 minutes

Only do this after your Residential Service status shows Active.
  1. Open your router's admin page (usually 192.168.1.1 or similar)
  2. Find the WAN or Internet connection settings
  3. Set connection type to PPPoE
  4. Enter the Username and Password from Step 2 (found in Access Management)
  5. Enable IPv6 and set it to DHCPv6-PD (or "Prefix Delegation")
  6. Save and connect

All done! Your router should show connected. Open a browser and you are online.
