Wholesale services
Residential access and network infrastructure for Canadian ISPs.
AS30265 provides the wholesale infrastructure that Canadian ISPs need to deliver residential Internet service. We manage the ILEC wholesale agreement, NNI infrastructure, subscriber sessions, and network transport. Our wholesale services are priced per subscriber with no fixed wholesale charges. Separate costs for IDC facilities, IP transit, and other infrastructure depend on the integration you choose.
What a wholesale aggregator does
AS30265 holds the aggregated wholesale HSA agreement with the ILEC. We operate the NNI where subscriber sessions are delivered, terminate those sessions on our LNS, and provide transport between the AHSSPI and the LNS. Partners use this operational infrastructure to deliver service to their subscribers.
Our services include subscriber authentication, session management, IPv6 addressing, IP transit, and access to the Subscriber Portal. We also supply CPE that can carry your brand and provide consulting for organisations developing their own ISP infrastructure. Choose the services that match your operational requirements.
See the wholesale and partnership FAQ for details about integration, pricing, and availability.
How aggregated wholesale HSA works
In the aggregated wholesale High Speed Access (HSA) model mandated by the CRTC, the ILEC carries traffic from the subscriber premises to a Network to Network Interface (NNI). The subscriber router initiates a PPPoE session. The ILEC carries it to an L2TP Access Concentrator (LAC), which encapsulates the session in L2TP and transports it across the ILEC network. The L2TP Network Server (LNS) then terminates the session, assigns IP addressing, and routes subscriber traffic.
The ILEC operates the access network from the subscriber ONT through the OLT, LAC, and aggregation backbone. AS30265 receives the sessions at the NNI, terminates L2TP on the LNS, assigns addressing, and routes traffic through the core network.
Transport connects the Aggregated HSA Service Point of Interconnection (AHSSPI) to the ISP LNS. An ISP can colocate equipment at the AHSSPI or purchase transport to its LNS. AS30265 operates transport infrastructure across this segment and makes it available to wholesale partners.
Integration options
Choose the integration that matches the infrastructure your organisation operates. Options A and B are available now. Options C and D remain subject to the outcome of regulatory proceedings concerning ILEC wholesale access obligations.
